Arbitration is one of the means of settling disputes between the parties, especially commercial disputes between businessmen by neutral individuals away from the state courts, and arbitration is characterized by a confidential nature in the separation of disputes, unlike the state judiciary, which is publicity one of its distinctive characteristics, in addition to the speed and flexibility of procedures, and arbitration arises by agreement of the parties to resolve the emerging or potential dispute by arbitration, and this must be mentioned in the contract in writing, provided that it also mentions the competent authority to settle the dispute “as a center um Al Quwain for Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration” and in accordance with the rules and procedures of the Center, which makes the state courts incompetent to consider it.

The arbitration proceedings shall commence as soon as one of the parties submits an application to the Center to settle the dispute between them.
