Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Commission

The Committee shall supervise the Center, and for this purpose it shall have the following functions and powers:

  • Approving the general policy and strategic plans of the Center, and supervising the follow-up of their implementation.
  • Supervise the application of this Law, the rules of conciliation and arbitration and the regulations related to the tasks of the Center, and issue the necessary instructions for their implementation.
  • Proposing amendments to these Regulations and the rules and procedures of conciliation and arbitration, in consultation with the Board, which shall adopt and issue them by a decision thereof.
  • Approving the organizational structure of the administrative body of the Center, and its internal regulations and regulations, and submitting them to the Board for approval.
  • Approving the list of fees of arbitrators, conciliation mediators and experts hired by the Center, in consultation with the Board.
  • Approving the regulations related to the conditions for the registration of arbitrators, conciliation mediators, experts and membership procedures in the Center.
  • Approving the list of membership fees in the Center (if any), fees for registering cases, registering arbitrators, conciliation mediators and all other services provided by the Center, in consultation with the Council.
  • Approving the annual report on the work and activities of the Center, and submitting it to the Council.
  • Approving the annual budget and the final account of the Center, and submitting them to the Council for approval.
  • Forming and abolishing subcommittees, and defining their tasks.
  • Appointing the arbitral tribunal and conciliation mediators, in accordance with the rules of conciliation and arbitration approved by the Center.
  • Proposing the remunerations allocated to the members of the Committee and sub-committees formed in the Center, in accordance with the provisions of this system, and submitting them to the Board for approval within the items of the Center’s annual budget.
  • Adopting the rules of conduct and professional ethics for arbitrators and conciliation mediators, taking into account the principles of governance, transparency, integrity and justice.
  • Seek the assistance of whomever it deems appropriate with expertise and competence to assist it in performing the tasks entrusted to it under this Law, without any of them having a counted vote in its deliberations.
  • Any other tasks or powers necessary to achieve the objectives of the Center, assigned to it by the Board.
